Colour inspiration

Hi friends,
Today I'm posting a card for the JustRite challenge #97 Colour Inspiration.I love colour challenges, they take you outside of your comfort zone, and the end results are always a bit of surprise, aren't they? This time we were challenged to use Cadmium Orange, Brick Beige and Teal Blue as our colours, and I went for a relatively simple card using two stamps by JustRite, French Rose Background and  a Happy Birthday stamp from the Large Fancy Sentiments set. Both stamps were used along with embossing powders (oh, I'm in love with the flower background embossed in white!!!) to add some texture; I've distressed the edge of my stamped background and touched it with a Mango chalk ink to pop it up a bit, then sewed my background to another layer. I've used vellum paper for the sentiment as it doesn't block the gorgeousness of the the background stamp :-) And it allowed me to trace part of the stamped image with pearls - I think it's cool that you can use the image as your silhouette for a custom pearl swirl :-) Then I added ribbon, metal ring, twine and a few flowers made with the help of great Spellbinders' flower dies. And here is my card. Thank you for stopping by!!!
