Yellow/grey card

Hi Friends,

Today I'm posting a card made for JustRite challenge #91 (oh, I'm totally anticipating a blast with the 100th challenge just 'round the corner :-), which is to use colour inspiration - yellow/grey/neutral. I've seen all the cards made by the talented crafters from around the globe, and I don't envy the judges this week! I LOVE them all!! Well, the challenge is fun (I LOVE grey and I absolutely LOVE yellow!!) and the prizes are delicious :-) No chance to miss that combination, right? I also want to enter my creation to Simon Says Stamps challenge this week, which is Anything Goes.

For my card today, I've used JustRite's  Lace Background StampLace Medallion Labels and a sentiment from the set You Inspire Me. I've stamped both lace stamps on white cardstock in grey ink, then heat embossed with sparkling translucent embossing powder (oh, the sparkle!!!), then used Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade distress inks to colour up the cardstock, so that the background colour is not even and has a bit more spice :-). I could not possibly resist cutting up the Medallion image and layering it up - the second picture shows the layers in depth. The hardest part was to extend the largest die of Resplendent Rectangles set by Spellbinders to accommodate the main image, but it was rather fun :-) I felt for a moment that I was a space engineer, calculating millimeters, angles etc. lol I'm kidding of course, the extension took me about 10 minutes to complete :-) And for the additional bling I added some yellow drops to some parts of the card, finished it off with ribbon bows, and now I have a really hard time deciding who will be getting this card. I think I'll keep it on my desk forever - the sparkle, the lace, the ribbons... yum... That's my official favourite as of today!! Thank you for dropping by!

And here are the promised layers' close-up:
